For our first Patriot's Day we went to Lexington for a parade. Patriots' Day commemorates the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. To prepare for Patriot's Day we checked out Paul Revere's Ride by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow from the library. Sophia really enjoyed it, Serafin not so much. Sophia loves everything about the American Revolution. Serafin still prefers books that include Dora.
There are several battle reenactments for Patriots' Day. We didn't make it to any, but did see mounted re-enactors retrace the ride of Paul Revere and William Dawes.
