So much to cover over the last month.... Let's get started!
Sophia turned 6 years old this year! She's still doing very well in school and talks about her friends often. Sophia got Christmas cards from friends in California and a special card and letter from her best friend in Hawaii! She gets so excited to get mail just for her. We got two really special packages from California. Aunt Marlene sent her a Unicorn Pillow Pet for her birthday and Grandma Alvarado set a care package full of clothes for the girls, coloring books, and presents for Christmas and her Birthday!
Sophia loved her birthday and she got to see snow for the first time! Serafin was not as excited about the snow as Sophia, but she got out and played for a short time in the snow. Sophia wasted no time getting into a snowball fight and making snow angels. Serafin enjoyed the snow once she realized it was a lot like sand - you can dig in snow! She's in heaven now.
The day after Christmas we had our first blizzard! We stayed home for the most part... I did a little post Christmas shopping. Hopefully the next blizzard won't be during school or when David is expected at work!
Our Christmas was very mellow this year. In the past we would go to Glendora the weekend before Christmas to see my family, spend Christmas morning at our house, and then see David's side of the family later Christmas day/night. Unfortunately, Glendora and Vista were just too far to drive this year... This year it was just the four of us. We opened presents together and had a small ham dinner. The holiday was really relaxing... It doesn't really seem normal.
That's it for the past 2 weeks... Sorry for the long break. Here's to more exciting posts in 2011!
